The waxing period is the intro of Girlfriends, three moon phases stepping into their own. Just after the New Moon, the moon slowly expands in brightness, spiritually signaling that it's time to put things in motion to turn dreams into reality.

Understanding the Waxing Period

Moonlight shoots into the night's sky quickly and boldly. We are watching as the Earth begins to align with the Sun, and the moon's light slowly takes shape from crescent to full circle.

The Three Phases of the Waning Period

  1. Waxing Crescent

A delicate sliver of light shines on the possibilities. Hopefully, the dreams were vast during the New Moon, so you have numerous possibilities to pursue.

  2. First Quarter

Half the moon is here to shine, and with it comes an immense amount of clarity.

  3. Waxing Gibbous

A shimmering wink adorns the sky. As if all the lights are off, except one flickering candle waiting to be snuffed. Once out, you can rest and recharge.

Embracing the Illumination

Watching light increase across the night sky can mimic the same feelings as the last commercial before a movie begins, the curtains opening as the first note is sung at a musical, or that plate of food finally being for you at a restaurant. Just as the moon grows in illumination towards its peak, the Full Moon, we can build our energy and momentum. This period is ideal for setting intentions, initiating new projects, and nurturing personal growth.
